Now we have come someway to understanding branding. We need insight, which we will get by listening to clients, listening to yourself, to experts and the market. Hence, we get a mix of goals, experience, needs and intuition which all come together in relevance and differentiation. Successful brands make a promise which is relevant and differentiated, and which can be believed and delivered against. We need collective ownership of these concepts. What is the role of the brand, its differences, and what is its personality, does it have authority, can the customer believe it, and once we have a successful brand what else can it do, think of the brand Virgin developed by Sir Richard Branson.
